Jure Hrovat and Ana Kreč co-tutored the 5-day Docomomo International Student Workshop: "Education to Everybody," focusing on the use of generic structures as a design tool, by analysing and elaborating on the 1936-1964 series of standardised corridor-free school buildings designed by the Slovenian Modern Movement architect Emil Navinšek.
International and interdisciplinary student teams were challenged to propose sustainable interventions and extensions for one building, which could serve as a model for the other 38 corridor-free school buildings that Navinšek designed nationwide, and even for the many standardised school buildings in other countries.
The workshop results were presented at the 15th International Docomomo Conference, "Metamorphosis: The Continuity of Change," held in Cankarjev Dom in Ljubljana in August 2018.
