SVET VMES was awarded 2nd prize in the Open Anonymous Architectural Competition for the new 7-unit kindergarten in Kranj. Situated on a verdant site rich with mature, high-quality trees, the proposal embraces the landscape as its foundation.
Conceived as a compact composition of single-pitched volumes, the design evokes a cluster of small houses nestled among the treetops. This gentle, child-scaled architecture respects its natural surroundings, preserving a maximum of existing greenery while offering an inviting and imaginative environment for early learning. The result is a thoughtful balance between built form and nature—a kindergarten in quiet dialogue with its forested context.
