
We are pleased to contribute to the latest issue of AB – The Slovene Magazine for Architectural Theory, dedicated to the work and legacy of Slovene modernist Emil Navinšek (1904–1991), renowned for his innovative, corridor-free school designs developed in the post-World War II era.
In her article “Places of Delight – Places D”, Ana Kreč of SVET VMES explores the overlooked dimension of delight in Slovene educational architecture — a quality largely absent from contemporary school design due to the constraints of outdated legislative frameworks. The text advocates for a rethinking of spatial norms, positioning delight not as a luxury but as a fundamental condition for fostering meaningful, engaging learning environments.
