The unused 440 m² floor area (320 m² usable) space is located in a multi-apartment old town house in the urban setting of Ljubljana, with many amenities nearby. It is accessible through a central staircase. The existing undeveloped area is to be converted for residential use, either short- or long-term, especially for young people, such as students or young professionals. Heritage protection prevents major interventions to the exterior that would alter the street facade and roof.

Sociological studies show a steady rise in single-person households and a decline in traditional families. With real estate increasingly unaffordable for young people, more students going on exchanges, and professionals seeking global opportunities, new living models like co-living have emerged.
Co-living brings individuals together outside of a family unit, offering private spaces alongside shared areas for socializing, work, and leisure, fostering connection, interaction, and a shared sense of responsibility.

Its design blends private units such as micro apartments or rooms with a larger shared space. The attic is divided into two sections. One half contains five small studios with galleries and a communal kitchen and dining area for socializing. The other half offers five to seven student rooms with private bathrooms, a shared living area, and a gallery workspace.
Studios suit young professionals seeking temporary stays, while student rooms focus on co living and social interaction. Circulation areas maximize shared dining, work, and social spaces. A shared laundry and storage room are located near the main staircase.
