At the EPIC Interpretation Centre in Nova Gorica, Slovenia, we have designed a permanent exhibition, 'Mesto na meji' - 'City on the Border', which sheds light on the past of the Goriška region through the personal and collective stories of its inhabitants. The exhibition offers an in-depth insight into everyday life in a 20th-century borderland, moving beyond established national narratives to present history from a human and sensitive perspective. It reveals the lived experiences of people whose lives were shaped by the region before, during, and after both World Wars.
