Idea Street
School corridor renovation at Koseze Primary School
Ljubljana, Slovenia, 2012
Dull hallway gets a new character through activation of 50 cm wide, left over niche spaces, painted in vibrant colors and filled with evocative soft furniture.
Idea Street is defined by two characteristic elements: “hot spots” that are created in the wider areas of the hallway and the graphics on the wall, that entertain children, enlive the area and mark different spaces behind the walls of the hallway. During the first stage of the Idea Street project the end segment of the hallway was created. It is an area where the youngest pupils on the 1st floor are and thus it is very vibrant. The Green Station is filled with soft seating cubes that can be stacked along the wall or arranged in a multitude of configurations along the hallway’s floor. This makes for an adaptable space that stimulates new thinking, new ideas and thus is an “Idea Street”.
